Mujung Endorsed by CES Political Coalition

(CESGPU, JUBA) – The National Agenda, a coalition of political parties active in Central Equatoria State, has formally congratulated Lt. Gen. Rabi Mujung Emmanuel on his appointment as the new Governor of the state.

The gesture was led by Hon. Alex Lotiyu Elia, the Minister of Animal Resources, Fisheries and Tourism, who heads the coalition.

In a statement issued on 2 July 2025 in Juba, the National Agenda leadership reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with Governor Mujung to advance unity, service delivery and effective governance in the state.

The coalition described the appointment as an opportunity for renewed political collaboration under the framework of the Revitalized Agreement on the Resolution of the Conflict in South Sudan (R-ARCSS).

The Governor, in response, expressed his desire to bring together all communities and political groupings in Central Equatoria, regardless of their party background.

He emphasised the need for inclusive governance and cooperation among all stakeholders to realise peace and development goals.

He said that implementing the R-ARCSS remains a top priority and called on all parties to the agreement to work in harmony to meet the expectations of the people.

The National Agenda coalition highlighted the importance of building a strong working relationship with the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM), the leading partner in the current political arrangement.

It stressed that deeper political understanding and shared responsibility were essential to deliver the promises of the peace deal and to move the state forward.

Discussions during the meeting also focused on long term strategies aimed at strengthening peace, improving state services and ensuring stability across Central Equatoria.

The coalition pledged to continue offering support to the Governor’s administration as it works to unite the population and uphold the principles of transparency and good governance.
