
New Revenue Officials Begin Work in Central Equatoria/PHOTO CREDITS: CESGPU
(JUBA) – New leaders of two key revenue institutions in Central Equatoria State have taken the oath of office in Juba, with authorities calling for stronger integrity, transparency and improved revenue collection.
Officials sworn in include Franco Mogga Wani as Commissioner General of the State Revenue Authority, with Flora Gabriel Modi serving as Deputy Commissioner General. Emmanuel Juma Diyo was sworn in as Commissioner General of the State Insurance Regulatory Authority.
Authorities said the institutions play an important role in raising public revenue and regulating the insurance sector in the state. They are expected to strengthen revenue systems, encourage voluntary tax compliance and improve accountability in public financial management.
The swearing in ceremony took place at the Central Equatoria State Government Secretariat in Juba.
Officials said improving revenue collection is important for strengthening public services and supporting development activities in the state. Strong management of public resources is also seen as necessary to improve economic growth and government services.
During the ceremony, Central Equatoria Governor Emmanuel Adil Anthony called on the newly appointed officials to carry out their duties with honesty, accountability and commitment to public service.
He said the leadership of the two institutions must focus on building credible and effective agencies that can support development in Central Equatoria State.
On behalf of the officials sworn in, the Commissioner General of the State Revenue Authority Franco Mogga Wani said financial reform would be a priority. He said the authority would work closely with the State Ministry of Finance and other institutions to ensure policies and regulations are implemented effectively.
Senior officials attending the ceremony also called for stronger measures to protect financial stability and improve service delivery as South Sudan prepares for the planned December elections.
