(JUBA)-Koneta Hub, a National NGO based in Juba has successfully hosted a local watch party for the Inclusive Africa Conference 2026, bringing together persons with disabilities, innovators, and community stakeholders for meaningful engagement and dialogue on inclusion and digital accessibility.
The global conference, held in Nairobi, Kenya from June 2 to 4, 2026, convened a diverse group of participants including innovators, educators, policymakers, development partners and disability inclusion advocates. Under the theme “Accelerating Digital Accessibility and AI Solutions for Africa’s Future,” the event focused on advancing accessibility and equal opportunities across the continent.
In Juba, participants gathered at Koneta Hub to follow the conference proceedings, share insights, and engage in discussions aimed at strengthening inclusion efforts in South Sudan. The watch party created a dynamic platform for learning, networking and amplifying the voices of persons with disabilities.
Speakers and participants emphasized the critical role of technology, education and innovation in empowering persons with disabilities and driving inclusive socio-economic development. As South Sudan continues its journey toward digital transformation, stakeholders highlighted the importance of ensuring that no one is left behind.
The gathering also underscored the need for stronger collaboration among government institutions, private sector actors, and civil society organizations. Participants called for greater investment in inclusive policies and programs that expand access to education, employment, entrepreneurship and leadership opportunities for persons with disabilities.
Koneta Hub expressed appreciation to all attendees for their active participation and contributions, noting that such engagements are vital in building a more inclusive and resilient society.
The organization also extended special thanks to its partner, InABLE, for supporting the hosting of the watch party in Juba and enabling local participation in the continental conversation.
Stakeholders concluded the event with a renewed call to action, urging more institutions in South Sudan to prioritize disability inclusion as a core pillar of sustainable development and to ensure meaningful representation of persons with disabilities in decision-making processes.
