(JUBA) – MTN South Sudan has introduced a new mobile service called “Dafa le ana”— translated as “Pay for Me”— which allows customers to make voice calls even when they have no airtime.
The service is designed to support uninterrupted communication for users across the country, especially during times when they urgently need to make a call but lack credit.
The service works by shifting the cost of the call to the receiver. A customer without airtime can dial the number they wish to reach and follow the prompt to select Option 1.
Once selected, the intended call recipient is notified of the incoming “Pay for Me” request and can accept or reject the charge. If accepted, the receiver bears the cost of the entire call.
MTN stated that the Dafa le ana feature is aimed at increasing accessibility to mobile services, especially in emergency or urgent situations.
The company added that the service is available “anytime, anywhere”, reflecting its broader strategy to ensure no one is disconnected due to lack of airtime.
| Feature | Details |
|---|---|
| Service Name | Dafa le ana (Pay for Me) |
| Who Pays? | The call recipient |
| How to Use | Dial number > Choose Option 1 when prompted |
| Availability | Nationwide (Anytime, Anywhere) |
| Target Users | Subscribers with no airtime or low credit |
The service is expected to benefit a wide range of customers, particularly students, rural users or individuals in emergencies who often find themselves without enough credit but need to reach someone urgently.
According to the Telecom company, MTN continues to develop new solutions tailored to South Sudan’s unique challenges in the telecommunications sector:
Through services like Dafa le ana, the company is promoting digital inclusion by providing options that address financial and accessibility barriers in communication.
