
Incident Scene in Luri village
(JUBA / YEI ) – A tragic aviation accident involving a CityLink Africa Airways aircraft has claimed the lives of all 14 people on board, the airline confirmed in a statement released Tuesday.
The aircraft, identified as flight 5Y-NOK, went down on the morning of April 27, 2026, approximately 20 kilometers southwest of Juba International Airport. According to the airline, the flight departed from Yei at 09:15 AM before losing communication at around 09:43 AM on Monday.
South Sudan Civil Aviation Authorities later confirmed there were no survivors.
In a condolence message shared by CityLink Aviation Ltd, the company’s management expressed “profound sadness” over the incident and extended condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims. The airline said it is cooperating closely with aviation regulators and emergency response teams to support ongoing investigations and recovery efforts.
Officials have not yet disclosed the cause of the crash. Investigations are currently underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the accident.
The airline said it will continue to provide updates as more verified information becomes available.
