(JUBA) -The Ministry of Health in collaboration with its partners on Friday launched a mass distribution campaign of insecticide-treated mosquito nets across all six counties of the state.
The campaign aims to reduce malaria prevalence and improve community health outcomes.
State Health Minister Joyce Bakwa Agole expressed appreciation to the partners for organizing and supporting this important initiative. She noted that the launch reflects a shared commitment to improving the health and well-being of the people of Central Equatoria State.
She said malaria continues to pose a serious public health challenge in the state affecting thousands of families each year, particularly children under five and pregnant women.
Bakwa reaffirmed her ministry’s commitment to ensuring the effective and equitable distribution of mosquito nets across all counties of Central Equatoria State. She added that digital systems will be used to enhance transparency, efficiency and accountability throughout the campaign.
The campaign was organized and funded by UNICEF and Health Link South Sudan through the Multi-Donor Trust Fund. It was attended by county commissioners as well as youth and women leaders
