(TEL AVIV) – South Sudan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hon. Ambassador Monday Semaya K. Kumba, held a special meeting with staff of the South Sudan Embassy in Tel Aviv on 1 August 2025, where he praised their dedication and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting its diplomatic missions abroad.
During the engagement, Ambassador Monday expressed appreciation for the embassy team’s hard work in representing South Sudan’s interests in Israel, acknowledging the challenging nature of their duties.
He encouraged the staff to continue upholding professionalism and maintaining the spirit of service, particularly as South Sudan expands its foreign relations.
The meeting came as part of the Minister’s official visit to Israel, which also included high level diplomatic talks with Israeli President Isaac Herzog and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
“You are the face of our nation in Israel. Your work is not just administrative. It is part of building our country’s global identity,” said the Minister.
He assured the staff that Juba is committed to strengthening institutional support for foreign missions and improving the welfare of diplomatic employees.
Accompanying the Minister were senior officials including Ambassador Sitona Abdallah, Director General of International Cooperation, and Ambassador Dak Solomon Amum, South Sudan’s Chargé d’Affaires to Israel.
The Israeli Ambassador to South Sudan, H.E. Garshon Kedar, was also part of the broader diplomatic itinerary, though he was not present at the embassy staff briefing.
Ministry sources said the Minister used the meeting to discuss operational challenges faced by the Tel Aviv embassy and listened to concerns from staff.
