OPEN LETTER
By Dominic Living Wawa
No Celebrations Now, Only Prayers and Action
Our son, Mr Dada Isaac, and your team, the trust placed in you yesterday by the Kakwa people comes at a most critical time. It comes when our people are in desperate need of hope, unity, and action-oriented leadership.
As one who has walked through almost all our Kakwa lands, I can honestly say this election is an answered prayer for our suffering people in Yei, Morobo, and Kupera.
Today, more than 90% of our Kakwa people live in pain. Our mothers weep, our children sleep hungry in the bushes, our land is gripped by fear, and our generation lacks schools, hospitals and the basic necessities of life.
Mr Dada, just imagine, even as you were being elected yesterday, our people from Lusa Payam were crying, suffering and sleeping under the open sky. They remain deprived of peace and freedom in their own land.
To me, your election is not a moment for celebration but a call for urgent action. Kakwa land is crying in silence, and we look to your leadership to bring the change we desperately need. Above all, we need peace, peace that will allow our children to learn, our sick to heal, and our people to live without fear in their own homes.
It is my prayer that God Almighty, who placed us in the Kakwa community, may grant you and your team the wisdom, strength and courage to lead with justice, compassion and urgency.
My brother, to speak honestly, the task ahead is great. But together, as sons and daughters of the Kakwa people, we stand behind you to restore dignity and hope to our land.
Finally, to my fellow Kakwa brothers and sisters, and to those who did not succeed in the elections, let us come together. This is not the time for division. Let us put aside our differences and work for the good of our land.
Kakwa! Yi a Pele kele.
