(YEI RIVER COUNTY) – The Commissioner of Yei River County, Hon. Emmanuel Taban Seme, has returned from Juba after a series of meetings with senior officials of the Central Equatoria State Government, focusing on security, public services, and development in the county.
The visit included discussions with the Governor of Central Equatoria State, H.E. Emmanuel Adil Anthony, and other state leaders. The talks reviewed the general situation in Yei River County and examined ways to improve coordination between county and state authorities.
Officials said the meetings aimed to strengthen cooperation in order to improve service delivery and respond to urgent community needs, particularly in areas affected by insecurity and limited infrastructure.
During the engagements, the Commissioner briefed the Governor on the security situation in the county. He reported that most areas remain calm, although there are isolated cases of insecurity linked to criminal activities.
The discussions also focused on strengthening security systems, supporting law enforcement agencies, and addressing the activities of armed and criminal groups. Leaders agreed on the need for closer cooperation between county authorities and security organs to protect civilians.
Development priorities were also reviewed, including the rehabilitation of the Wuluturu Bridge and other public infrastructure projects. These projects are seen as important for improving transport, trade, and access to basic services in Yei River County.
The withdrawal of Ambororo cattle herders from the county was another key issue raised during the meetings. Governor Adil directed the Commissioner to work closely with security agencies to ensure that the process is carried out peacefully and in an organised manner.
The Governor reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to supporting Yei River County, stating that security and infrastructure development remain top priorities for Central Equatoria State.
Hon. Emmanuel Taban welcomed the Governor’s guidance and pledged the full cooperation of the county administration in implementing state directives. He said his office will continue working with relevant authorities to promote stability, peace and inclusive development.
