(JUBA COUNTY) – Authorities in Juba County have resolved a dispute between Tukoro Village in Jokoki Boma and Loggo Community of Mangalla Payam over the opening of a local road.
The disagreement was settled through dialogue on Wednesday 26 February 2026 following a consultative meeting convened by county officials.
Juba County Commissioner Hon Emmanuel Tete Ezbon confirmed that the two communities reached an agreement after discussions facilitated by the county administration.
The dispute arose after members of Loggo Community raised concerns that they were not represented on the road opening committee, although the road passes through their land.
Speaking after the meeting, Commissioner Tete Ezbon commended both sides for choosing dialogue and urged residents to promote unity and cooperation in support of development across Juba County.
Mr George Abusano Legge, Chairperson of the Tukoro Road Committee, described the matter as a misunderstanding. He said the committee was ready to work jointly with Loggo Community and could be reconstituted to ensure fair representation.
The Chairperson of Loggo Community welcomed the outcome and said their concerns had been addressed. He reaffirmed the community’s commitment to peaceful coexistence and development.
The meeting was attended by former Central Equatoria State Deputy Governor Hon Sarah Nene, Chairperson of the Juba County Legislative Council Hon Dr Daniel Jada Marcello, Assistant Executive Director Monday Yoasa, Juma Marcello Sebur, the Director of Mangalla Payam, the Paramount Chief of Juba County and chiefs from Mangalla Payam.
Local authorities said inclusive consultation remains key to preventing disputes linked to land and infrastructure projects in Juba County, where expanding road networks are central to improving access and economic activity in South Sudan’s capital region.
