Elias Taban Parangi (L) and President Salva Kiir Mayardit (R)
I write to express a concern that weighs heavily on my heart regarding the leadership of our President, H.E. Salva Kiir Mayardit. As someone who has dedicated a significant part of my life to the struggle for our nation, and as a global religious leader, I feel compelled to share my thoughts on the current state of affairs and the challenges we face.
There is a growing urgency to address an issue that quietly undermines our collective efforts: the subtle betrayal that sometimes surrounds those who claim to support the President. We all desire a better future for South Sudan and a достой legacy for our President and his family both nationally and globally. These aspirations are noble and achievable. However, it is deeply concerning that some individuals, whether driven by self-interest or misguided loyalty, create barriers that prevent the President from seeing the true reality on the ground.
As a fellow veteran of Anyanya One where I served as a child soldier and the SPLA/M, I understand the sacrifices made in the struggle for our country. These shared experiences should unite us, not divide us. Now more than ever, we must rally around our President with sincerity, offering honest counsel and genuine support as he navigates the complex task of securing lasting peace and prosperity for all South Sudanese.
The President and I are only one year apart in age. At this stage of life, what more should we seek beyond leaving behind a peaceful, stable, and prosperous nation and a good name for future generations?
As a man of God, I must speak plainly: the true enemies of our President and his administration are not necessarily those in opposition, but those who claim closeness to him those who share meals with him, yet fail to present the unvarnished truth of our national situation. It is our moral duty to ensure that he is well-informed and empowered to make decisions that benefit the nation and secure a legacy we can all be proud of.
Let us come together as a community of loyal and sincere supporters, committed to truth, transparency, and accountability. Only then can we help our President realize the vision we all share a peaceful and prosperous South Sudan.
To those who continue to mislead our President, I say this: the suffering of innocent citizens those dying from hunger and insecurity cries out daily before God. Whatever is unjustly accumulated will not bring lasting benefit, even across generations.
Thank you for taking the time to consider these reflections. I remain hopeful that, together, we can work toward a brighter future for our beloved nation.
