(JUBA) – Governor Rabi Mujung Emmanuel of Central Equatoria State has directed a newly formed investigative committee to carry out its work fairly and present a full report regarding the alleged sale of a government asset that led to the suspension of several state officials.
The Governor met the probe team on Friday, one day after announcing its formation. He said the work of the committee must be based on facts and should follow the Terms of Reference that guide the inquiry.
Mujung assured the members that the state government would give them all the support they need to complete the assignment.
The committee is chaired by the State Advisor for Legal Affairs, Hon. Naphtali Hassan Gale. It has been tasked with examining the circumstances surrounding the alleged sale and determining whether wrongdoing occurred.
The Governor emphasised that the investigation is important for maintaining public trust in state institutions. He said that transparency and accountability are central to the functioning of government and noted that the findings should help ensure that state property remains protected for public benefit.
The committee will officially begin its work on 10 November 2025 and is expected to submit its findings within seven working days.
No financial figures were disclosed at this stage of the investigation.
