(JUBA) – President Salva Kiir Mayardit has received newly appointed staff members at the Presidency, including a new deputy office manager and several senior administrative officials.
The President urged the officials to carry out their duties with dedication, professionalism and teamwork.
Ambassador Regina Akur Nyok has been appointed Deputy Office Manager in the Office of the President. She will work alongside Ambassador Marina Ayen Gregory, who recently assumed the role of Office Manager.
During the meeting at the Office of the President, President Kiir encouraged both officials to maintain commitment to efficient public service. Ambassador Akur expressed gratitude for the appointment and pledged to support the work of the Presidency.
Earlier last week, other newly appointed officials were also welcomed. The new office holders include Valentino Dhel Malueth as Chief Administrator, James Deng Wal as Executive Director in the Office of the President, Ambassador Sunday Chot Riek as Chief of State Protocol, Athian Akec Ong’a as Head of Legal Department and Ambassador Marina Ayen Gregory as Office Manager.
The President reminded them that cooperation and coordination will be central to improving administrative work within the Presidency.
During a recent swearing in ceremony, President Kiir also directed new government officials to focus on service delivery, peace and unity.
Those sworn in include Tut Gatluak Manime as Advisor on National Security Affairs, Africano Mande Gedima as Minister of Presidential Affairs, Dr Barnaba Bak Chol as Minister of Finance and Planning, and Athian Akec Ong’a as Head of Legal Department.
The President said the new officials must prioritise the needs of the people and support efforts to strengthen governance. He stressed the importance of building institutions capable of promoting development and addressing economic challenges facing the country.
He further stated that national unity remains a key goal of the government. Officials were encouraged to work together in the interest of peace and stability across all regions of South Sudan.
