
Trade Minister Details Achievements to Party Secretary General/PHOTO CREDITS: National Trade and Industry Portal
(JUBA) – South Sudan’s national trade strategy is being brought into line with the ruling party’s platform for economic recovery following a high level briefing at the SPLM headquarters in Juba on Thursday.
The session was led by the SPLM Secretary General, Cde. Dr. Akol Paul Kordit, who received a full report from the Minister of Trade and Industry, Hon. Atong Kuol Manyang Juuk.
The report covered recent progress in improving the trade environment and building industrial capacity across the country. Operational problems facing the ministry were also discussed openly, along with possible lasting solutions to make service delivery more efficient.
A forward plan was presented, with programmes aimed at growing the national economy through stronger industrial production and smoother trade facilitation.
Hon. Atong Kuol Manyang Juuk stated that all trade and industrial work remains grounded in the core principles of the ruling party and that her ministerial duties are a direct extension of her role within the SPLM.
The meeting stressed that the work of the Ministry of Trade and Industry is directly linked to the wider SPLM vision and the leadership of President Salva Kiir Mayardit.
Cde. Dr. Akol Paul Kordit made clear that such regular updates are vital for keeping oversight and ensuring the party’s mandate for economic change is delivered for the benefit of all citizens.
