(JUBA) – A joint team of South Sudan National Bureau of Standards (SSNBS) officers, local security personnel and authorities from Rajaf Payam successfully disposed of 2,000 cartons of spoiled chicken products.
The disposal took place at the officially designated dumping site in Rajaf Payam, Juba County, Central Equatoria State on 2 January 2026.
The shipment was referred from the SSNBS Nimule Border Station after an inspection revealed that the refrigeration system had failed. This caused the chicken products to spoil, making them unsafe for human consumption.
The SSNBS confirmed that the products were handled and dumped in a safe manner, in line with national standards for food safety and consumer protection.
The Bureau emphasised its ongoing commitment to protecting consumers and ensuring that only safe, high-quality, and compliant products enter and circulate within the South Sudanese market.
