ECU Community Mourns the Passing of Visiting Lecturer Dr. Piet Du Toit

(SOUTH AFRICA  / YEI, SOUTH SUDAN) -The management of Emmanuel Christian University (ECU) community in Yei River County, Central Equatoria State is mourning the death of visiting lecturer Dr. Piet Du Toit, who passed away today following a tragic car accident in South Africa.

In a message shared on its official Facebook page, the university described Dr. Du Toit as a devoted servant of God, a respected scholar, and a caring mentor who touched many lives through his commitment to faith, education, and service.

Dr. Du Toit served as a visiting lecturer at the Faculty of Education, where colleagues and students remember him for his wisdom, humility, and kindness. The university says his guidance inspired many to pursue truth and live with integrity.

While his passing leaves a deep void in the academic community, the university says his legacy will continue through the many lives he influenced.

The university community has extended its condolences to his family, especially his wife Tannie Elma, their children and grandchildren, the Faculty of Education family, and all those mourning his passing.
