H.E Salva Kiir Maryardit, President of the Republic of South Sudan
(CENTRAL EQUATORIA STATE) – The President of South Sudan, Salva Kiir Mayardit, has issued several presidential decrees relieving and appointing officials within the Revitalized Transitional Government of Central Equatoria State on Sunday evening.
The decrees, issued in accordance with Article 106A(2)(a) of the Transitional Constitution of South Sudan, 2011 (as amended), introduced changes affecting state advisors, ministers, heads of independent commissions, and county commissioners.
Among those relieved of their duties as state advisors are Valentino Kenyi, Advisor on Human Rights, and John Yona, Advisor on Economic Affairs.
The presidential decrees also relieved several state ministers, including Lupai Satimon Andrew, Minister of Cabinet Affairs; Jacob Aligo Lo-Ladu, Minister for Peace Building; Taban Emmanuel Baya, Minister for Parliamentary Affairs; and Salah Rajab Bunduki, Minister of Finance, Planning and Investment.
Others relieved include Nejua Mursal Juma, Minister of Health; Clement Maring Samuel, Minister of Roads and Bridges; Peter Lujo Yospeta, Minister of Cooperatives; Rita Dominic, Minister for Culture, Youth and Sports; Zendiya Eluzai Abu, Minister of Gender, Child and Social Welfare; David Morobe Aquillino, Minister of Housing, Lands and Public Utilities; Stephen Onesimo Lado, Minister of Trade and Industry; Cirisio Zakaria Ladu, Minister of Education and General Instruction; and Huda Micha Laila, Minister of Public Service and Human Resource Development.
In the state’s independent commissions, Henry Kala Sabuni was relieved as Chairperson of the Peace and Reconciliation Commission, while Rose Lisok Paulino was relieved as Chairperson of the Relief and Rehabilitation Commission.
The decrees also affected county leadership. Charles Data Bullen was relieved as Commissioner of Morobo County, Emmanuel Taban Seme as Commissioner of Yei River County, and Robert John Morris as Commissioner of Lainya County.
In the new appointments, President Kiir named Clement Maring Samuel as Advisor on Human Rights, Samir Nasir Roman as Advisor on Economic Affairs, Anna Kaku Samson as Advisor on Political Affairs, and Jacob Aligo Lo-Ladu as Advisor on Education and Literacy.
Several new state ministers were also appointed. These include Augustino Ladu Martin as Minister of Cabinet Affairs, Jacob Gore as Minister for Peace Building, Janet Aya as Minister of Finance, Planning and Investment, and Intisar Jaden Solomon as Minister for Parliamentary Affairs.
Others appointed include Joice Bakuwa as Minister of Health, Latio Ramba Abbas as Minister of Roads and Bridges, Emmanuel Khamis as Minister of Cooperatives, Bush Buse as Minister for Culture, Youth and Sports, Cirisio Zakaria Ladu as Minister of Public Service and Human Resource Development, Viato Wani Swaka as Minister of Housing, Lands and Public Utilities, Mawa A. Moses as Minister of Trade and Industry, Lupai Satimon Andrew as Minister of Education and General Instruction, and Elizabeth Pita Lugor as Minister of Gender, Child and Social Welfare.
In the independent commissions, John Modi Mulla was appointed Chairperson of the Peace and Reconciliation Commission, while Salah Rajab Bunduki was appointed Chairperson of the Relief and Rehabilitation Commission.
For county leadership, the President appointed Joseph Mawa Akuba as Commissioner of Morobo County, Samuel Malimbo Batali as Commissioner of Yei River County, and Huda Micha Laila as Commissioner of Lainya County.
The announcement was made on behalf of the President by the Governor of Central Equatoria State, Emmanuel Adil Anthony, who thanked the outgoing officials for their service and wished the newly appointed officials success in their new roles.
The decrees take effect immediately from the date of their signing.
